AFFORDABLE HOUSING PROPOSAL TABLED

A proposal to create an inclusionary zoning requirement for affordable housing in Louisville was tabled by the Planning Commission in February. The proposal was effectively set aside while local homebuilders, housing advocates and city planners work to come up with an alternative approach, likely including the use of density bonuses that will give builders the incentive needed to produce affordable units. The Planning Commission is scheduled to review the new proposal on May 10.
