FIRST PHASE OF ST. VRAIN LAKES SUBDIVISION APPROVED
Weld County approved the first 951 homes in the 1,113-acre, 5000 home St Vrain Lakes Subdivision. The subdivision wraps around the southern and eastern boundaries of the Del Camino MUD. Phase 1 is expected to be completed within five years.
SECOND NEW NORTHERN COLORADO RESERVOIR PROPOSED
The Colorado River Conservation District is seeking approval to construct a 90,000 acre-foot reservoir between Longmont and Loveland. The proposed Chimney Hollow Reservoir is the second major reservoir proposed in northeastern Colorado this year. Earlier, the Northern Colorado Water Conservancy District initiated plans for a 130,000 acre-foot reservoir five miles north of Horsetooth Reservoir northwest of Ft. Collins.
WELD COUNTY REJECTS ENCLAVE DEVELOPMENT
Weld County Commissioners rejected a 150-acre development (Liberty Subdivision) contiguous to the Town of Mead on December 14 saying that it belongs inside the Town. The Commissioners rejected what they called an enclave development that does not represent good planning practices. Months ago, the Weld County Planning Commission unanimously recommended approval of the project.
