LIFEBRIDGE PULLS UNION ANNEXATION APPLICATION
Leaders of LifeBridge Church decided to pull its annexation request for the Union development that was to go to voters in January. Spokespersons for the project said in essence that the change in City Council at the November election meant that even with annexation approval they likely could not develop the 350-acre project in the City. Four years ago Weld County Commissioners approved the project and it now appears that LifeBridge will proceed with development in unincorporated Weld County. The parcel is located southeast of Union Reservoir stretching from WCR 26 on the north to Colo. 119 on the south Plans for the development called for up to 700 homes and nearly 700,000SF of commercial, plus 1 million SF of religious and civic facilities.
