WELD COUNTY APPROVES WATERFRONT AT FOSTER LAKE
On November 14, 2007 the Weld County commissioners unanimously approved development of up to 1800 homes on a 547-acre parcel that bordered by I-25 on the east and Colo. 66 on the north, WCR 7 on the west and St Vrain State Park on the south. The development is southeast of and abuts the town of Mead. Mead official objected to the approval. Planned development includes a range of low to high density residential and up to 100,000SF commercial space. The approval included a requested zoning change. In August, Weld County approved three taxing districts that can levy up to 65 mills to finance infrastructure to support the development.
