TRUSTEES DISCUSS APPROPRIATE DEVELOPMENT ON VACANT PARCELS
Town Trustees put some focus on appropriate land uses and desirable housing types on undeveloped parcels in the community west of McCaslin blvd. at meetings on September 26 and 27. The parcels have been split into three distinct areas. Area 1 includes five properties near Sagamore behind Cosco. Area 2 includes the Oschner and Rogers Farm properties and four other parcels that surround Origiinal Town. Area 3, close to McCaslin Blvd. and Coalton Road includes the Verhey property and three additional parcels. The Trustees indicated that that support diverse uses in each of the areas. In Area 1 the preference is for medium density housing, up to 10 percent retail, an unspecified amount of light industrial and office uses. In Area 2 the preference is for open space west of Original Town, with the balance reserved for future discussions. In Area 3, preferred uses include office and institutional uses. Town staff are conducting fiscal analyses and preparing for a community open house scheduled for 6:00pm on Wednesday, October 5.
