COUNCIL EMBRACES MANAGED GROWTH WITH PHASED DEVELOPMENT PLAN
On September 20, the Louisville council unanimously approved phased residential growth as a tool to manage growth. Under the plan the City will limit residential building permits to 150 per year. And no more than 250 over tow years. Some exceptions may be granted for housing development that meets ‘specific policies and principles’ in the recently adopted Citywide Comprehensive Plan Update or the housing is located within an urban renewal district. Projects that have already been approved or are platted before October 1, 2005 are also exempt from the permit caps.
