REVENUE SHARING IGA WITH LOUISVILLE APPROVED
The Superior Board of Trustees finalized an intergovernmental agreement with the City of Louisville for sharing revenue from development on the 80-acre property that will be home to the Superior Town Center. The March 7 agreement provides for the municipalities to split revenue from a 2.7 percent sales tax and to limit retail development to 34 acres. An agreement was originally approved in 1997 but proposed residential development on the site, known as the Biella-Menkick property, raised issues and renewed discussion.
TOWN BOARD SCHEDULES MEETINGS FOR INPUT ON PLANNING ISSUES
True to their word, Town Board members initiated several meetings for residents to express their concerns and wishes regarding planning and growth in the Town. Sessions include the community’s comprehensive plan presentations on finance, traffic, development and various public services, including schools, through March and into April. Also, each Thursday in March, Superior residents can meet with Town staff from 3-6pm at Town Hall, 124 E. Coal Creek Drive, to discuss any issues of importance or interest to them in what is considered open house sessions. This more open and inclusive planning process discussion format resulted from citizen petitions submitted to the Town Board late last year concerning residential developments proposed west of McCaslin Blvd. Many of the complaints at that time were unfounded but Town officials want to be sure the community understands what is planned in their community and have a chance to be involved.
